Here are a few pics that certainly don't do justice to such a beautiful moon. On Friday night, when India and I got back, we looked up and saw a ring around the moon. It was almost iridescent. At times it appeared rainbow colored, at others, it appeared orange.

I've forgotten what the old wives tale is about the ring around the moon. Anyone remember?

    Take care.

Great pictures. I was out "trying" to fish under that moon. At one point I swear a person could have easily read a book under all that light.

I was thinking that the ring around the moon like that was supposed to be a warning for early frost. I could be (and probably am) wrong.

Anybody else know what those rings mean?

Thanks again for the great pitures Cheryl.

They say that the "halo" around the moon is an ice ring. Makes you think huh? Also supposed to be an indicator of a weather change.

It's called the "Harvest Moon" and the old saying is - Ring around the moon there will be rain soon.
