My son and I have been looking into fighting a few Carp lately!
We were rewarded today with a lil 10 pounder:wink:
He was foul hooked just under the chin and gave my boy a nice fight!
    Way to Go Shane!

What a SMILE on that boys face. I'm sure he made you proud. When he catches a big blue or flathead you may find that the camera isn't big enough for the smile and fish. Congradulations.

Nice carp, which had some very good color to it, the carp around here aren't so bright. Thanks for sharing and keep taking that boy fishing.

Awesome fish there, now what was that a ditch? Looks like a great place to fish when the cats aren't biting! Reminds me of the small retention ponds in Florida that were packed with fish, where I caught my biggest bass. During the night gar would come up and sit by the shore and we would go after them with flashlights. You should try night fishing in that ditch (pond)! Let us know if you do.

We have been fishing the same sections of that creek for about 15 years now.
A neighbor took me there back in the days when we first moved in.
He showed me a photo of a 25 pound Channel Cat that was over 3 feet long.
The largest Channel Cat I have picked up out there is a 8 to 10 pounder.
He picked his up at night and I cant say as to why I have never fished there at night!
The creek runs into Buffalo Bayou about 10 miles down from where the photos were taken.
We have hiked it and fished it and picked up hundreds of fish.. All catch and release due to the poor water conditions and high Mercury levels.

I have only seen Channel,Mud and Sun Cats from these creeks but I was told the Blues come up from Buffalo Bayou..
But in all my years I have not landed one..

Last year I had a fish on that ran me up and down that stinkin creek for 20 mn and then just burst away and broke my line..
Id like to know what it was for sure but almost feel like it was a huge Cat..
Oh well just stay tuned and I will be posting more pics as the fish get caulght!

That is awesome man, didn't look like a creek in the pic! That is a place I would kill to fish in. Maybe someday I'll get to visit the area and try it out. That looks too small to hold such big fish! dang I wish I was there, looks like a ditch full of giant fish. Good luck fishin
