    thats a nice yellow bullhead. they make great bait. Also, I have never heard of them called "Sun Cat" before. I grew up calling them mud cats.

    Anyways tell him congrats.

    Ya ther are offically Yellow Bullhead.. My son started calling then Sun Cats a few years ago and I guess the name kinda stuck..
    I was just looking at Texas Parks and Wildlife's web sight and the state reccord is 5.59 pounds..
    This one was rather large for us and Id say about the largest we have picked up in number a of years..

    Scotty your son Shane has a big smile on his face. :big_smile: I think he is hooked . Good job on takeing the boy fishing. I'm sure you both enjoyed this memoriable trip. I've always said "if you hook a child on fishing early on you wont have to worry about him getting hooked on drugs".:big_smile:
