I just tried some circle hooks for the first time the other day, caught fish but was wondering what hook has the most votes as the Best Hook?

I've been using the Daiichi hooks with great results. Very sharp points. Also I like using the Mustad Select Point hooks.

The "best" hook is the one you have the most confidence in.

Personally, I love the Gamakatsu octopus circle in 8/0 size and it's about all I'll use. But...............it's all about personal preferance, what works good for one person may not work so well for another.

Anything I might release usually gets a circle hook (Mustad, Owner, etc) , I even use some teeny tiny ones for bluegills when the little woman fishes with me. ( She cant get past the notion that a bobber has to go DOWN to have a fish attached !) Saw some studies in InFisherman that showed the mortality rate a lot lower with the circles vs. all others. In cases where I'm fishin to fill my every growing wasteline :) it doesnt much matter. With poles I still use circles, setlines and jugs seem to work a little better with J-hooks. Bottom line is get somethin in the water often !

I prefer a daiichi circle chunk light in 7/0 or the team catfish double action in 8/0 (same hook). Just wish it came in a bigger size. Everyone has a preference, but a sharp hook is better than a dull one no matter what kind it is. Good luck fishin'.

gamakatsu, owner, and daichii are all superior hooks. Although, when you take in account the price of these hooks I don't think you can beat eagleclaw king kahles. You can get a pack of 50 for a really good price.-bassmassey

The best hook might as well as What's the best rig to use. I have to say sharp hooks get fish!!!!!!!! $4 me money bys sharp hooks do NOT get cheap hooks or line ! Think of it we spend more on beer and getting to our fishing spot have 1 less beer and give it to your tackle!
