I just yesterday picked-up this motor serial #217-5888-1. It is air cooled, After pulling "forever" I decided that I was getting no spark.
Can you tell me who made it, where I can get parts or should I use it as an anchor?

I think that motor was sold by Sears. Should be a techumseh motor, parts may still be availble but probably will be costly. If its the same motor I have, should be a Ted Williams endorsed two stroke.

Although not a good anchor, they get hung up too easily, you could just throw it overboard without a rope and save yourself a bunch of headaches.

Ted Williams really got around and probally made more off Sears then in Baseball.
I've seen a Ted Williams 270 to go with that Ted Williams .22.
