there is one at walmart hear that is nice i drool every time i see it it is about a 35lber :cool2:
Don't think I ever heard of a real skin mounted catfish. Pretty much can count on them being fiberglass replica's. Just how good of a painter are ya lol. Order a blank mount and get some krylon.
Now for the answer you can take me Texas Muskie fishing. I also will use your custom Muskie pole too bud.
The catfish mounts I have seen are foam or fiber bodies that have
been air brushed.
The only way to get any fish mounted is get a replica. I have had walleye ,crappie skin mounts and after a few years the skin starts deteriorating. Fiberglass looks great 4 ever.
ALL fish mounts are airbrushed. Replicas or skin mount. Skin mount catfish have went to the wayside. Due to the fact the catfish have excessive oil in them and when they are skin mounted, the oil will bleed through and turn the fish yellow(in time,in short time). A replica fish is made from fiberglass with a gelcoat on the outside that gives it the detail.
ok i understand they are replicas.where are the replica pics?
Never found one I really caired for,,,for some reason all the guys think cats are smooth sided...:confused2:
These guys do good work on there other fish but same problem...
