    Tax Rebate
    >
President Bush said each one of us would get a $600.00 tax rebate in order to stimulate the economy.
Now, if we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China.
If we spend it on computers, most of the money will go to Korea or India.
If we spend it on gasoline, it will all go to the Arabs.
None of these scenarios will help the American economy.
The only way to keep that money here at home is to drink beer.
Apparently, beer is the only product still made in the U.S.A.
ITS OUR CIVIC DUTY AS AMERICANS!!!

Might spend some rebate money on some monk beer.
Very few Americans make a beer worth drinking compared to beers around the world.
    You got a few though.
ShinerBock is not a bad homegrown bock but its not a monk Bavarian either.
    Bavarians are my specialty.

Victory brewing makes some kick butt beers here in the states. The two owners are the first Americans to ever graduate from a German brew school.
That is an astounding feat in itself. Not many have done it or could do it.

Ommegang brewery puts out several good beers like the Witt.
All their beers come in a corked 750 ML bottle. Keep in mind, alot of the beers I'm listing arent your Budweiser alcohol content either. Much higher alcohol content. 7%-10% range.

Cant think of the brewery right off the top of my head but the guys that make Dogfish Head up in Delaware I think. Now to me they make some fantastic IPA's

The choices are limited in American beer though if you dont care for the American standard of brewing beer with rice.

What I buy with my refund will be bought and paid for in America. It doent matter where it came from.
Hopefully it will come from a Monestary over in Europe.

Speaking of beer it seems I heard that Miller Brewing is the only major beer company left that is American owned. Could this be true?????

Thanks for that info, I'll tell the wife she is anti-alcohol, It'll help convince her its my patriotic duty. I make a pretty good beer, I gave my equipment to my brother in law, I can get set up pretty good for 600 bucks. But I need it to pay off debts to probably European bankers.

DRC, if Budweiser was the only beer left in the land, I'd be a deacon in church.
Beer is no different then wine.
You can buy the cheap get drunk stuff or you can savor the flavors while trying to figure out the vintage and the winery.

You take a good monk beer at the right temperature and you can pick out the different varieties of hops.
    You can taste every ingredient.

Once you learn to appreciate a good beer for what it is, there aint no turning back. Anything else is just beer. Ho Hum.

Sounds good to me. When I am drinking 'cheap' I drink Miller Lite, sorry bud fans I don't know why but Bud gives me a headache everytime, guarenteed. Never with Lite, why is that?

When I feel a little more spendy I like Shiner Bock, any good Hefeweizen, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or Sam Adams.
