My uncle started raising talopia in his pond this year and me and my cousin got drafted to fillet them this weekend. (200 of em). I was wondering if anyone has ever used the remains or mainly the head as bait. They have got to be the oilest fish i have ever cut into. After filleting a few our hands felt like they had vaseline on them and we couldn't get it to come off. I saved all 200 heads from these fish and am gonna try it for bait this weekend just to see if it works. I know there not native to the waters but there so oily im gonna give it a go. Just wondering if anyone has ever tried it.

i have not but it should work. i have used squid and heard of people using mullet. so i think it is very likely to get you a few fish. let us know how it goes and good luck.
