I think it's important that parents take their children out. I know the only reason I fish everyday is because of my father. While I'm still young myself, I've made it a habit to take my cousins with me. I think it's once every year there's a Take A Kid Fishing program, and the local reservoir is always packed.

I always enjoy taking my daughter fishing. Now that she has 3 beautiful girls of her own, I need a bigger boat.:smile2: But seriously nothing can beat the look on a small childs face when they get a fish on, no matter what size. Heck a 4" perch is a monster to them at 5, 7 and 9 years old. But even if we scratch that day, the ride in Pawpaw's boat was enough to keep them happy. So to answer your question, I think it is very important to take a kid fishing.
