Took my 6 year old son out blue-gillin today. Now he can cast on his own so this is the first fish he has caught completely on his own, other than me baiting the hook (I wont let him yet) he hauled in this fine gill.

That's a great first catch. There's nothing quite like being taught to fish by one's father.

Man it's great to see other dads teaching there kids to fish, I have taught all 6 of mine to fish and all the boys to Hunt. The reason is because it good to be outdoors and I know they will never go hungry. Plus It's great joy of mine to see a kids catch any fish, but when they get a whopper that Smile last a life time. Nice Gill your son caught.:cool2:
