I had a problem with the tach and charging systym on my 40 merc. Brandon came over yesterday with a book on my motor and an idea of what the problem might be. Checked out the rectafier and it didnt check out. He had one from a merc that he used to have and it checked out good. Put it on and at this point it looks like it fixed the problem Thanks for the help Brandon.

No worries, Tom. It was a good excuse to get out of the house for awhile:wink: I was thinking, if you haven't already buttoned it all back up you may want to put some lock washers or lock tite on those terminals so the wires don't loosen up again.

Yea I was going to put some blue lock tight on them but was out. Have to get some this weekend and get it done. Might have to go out and just run in the river a little this weekend. Supposed to be nice.
