TOOK MY KIDS TO THE PARK YESTERDAY CAUSE MY 5 YEAR OLD WANTED TO FISH..DIDNT HAVE ANY WORMS..CRACKED A CAN OF CORN AND I HAVE NEVER USED STRAIGHT CORN BEFORE FOR GILLS(I CALL EM ALL PERCH). NOW WE NEVER HAVE AN ISSUE CATCHIN PERCH BUT THE CORN WAS TAKIN A MAXIMUM OF 5 SECONDS TO HAVE A FISH ON, THE BOY FILLED THE 5 GALLON BUCKET 3/4 FULL IN MAYBE 15 MINUTES AND I HAD TO PUT THE AERATOR ON THEM AND CUT THE PARK TRIP SHORT AND TAKE THEM HOME TO THE BAIT TROUGH. NEEDLESS TO SAY WE WILL BE DOING THIS MORE AND MORE LOL

IF YOU HAVENT TRIED CORN..DO IT LOL IT IS AWESOME

I've used corn as carp bait, and in a corn/worm/corn sandwich bait for trout fishing at night, but never for bluegill. I'll have to try that sometime. Sometimes they are so aggressive that they will bite a bare hook because it's shiny, or the smallest piece of worm will catch a big one.

I once saw a man bait his slat boxes with hole roasting ears. He said
it was the best bait you could get when it was in season.

Thats great . Kids catching fish makes them want to go fishing more often . I always let my grandkids catch bluegills for later bait . They love it and think they are doing something by catching grandpa some bait . I have used corn for rainbows and used it back in the day for carp and bowfins in a small creek .

I've caught plenty of trout on corn. Also if you spread some creamed corn out in the area you're fishing (kinda like chumming) it'll attract carp like crazy!
