Has anyone done any fishing at Claytor or Lower New river recently? Now that deer season is over I'm getting ready to start fishing hard again. With this weather I may either go to dehaven on Claytor or trout fish tom.:smile2:

Went fishing on New River today. Was running late and didn't get on water till 330. fished until dark. Got 1 bite and that was it. Water was really cold and clear-surface temp in upper 30's.

i use to fish claytor all of the time when i lived in christiansburg,i fished a lot below the dam also, not a lot of big cats at the base of the dam but man they sure are big ones up top in the lake ....i remember fishing below the dam and that sunken box car will get you prop everytime if ya dont know exactly where it is ,but once ya find it ,you can drag a few decent cats from around it .
