Stuck lower unit bolts

    i got a 85 hp johnson wanting to put a new impeller in it but the bolts on the lower unit is corroded in feels like there going to break if i turn them more got 2 stuck any suggestions on getting them out without breaking them off any help would be appreciated thanks

    Keith run over to wally world and get you a can of mapps gas and heat those bolts and run them out so far and squirt some pb blaster on them and run them back in to help release the corrison.

    We use alot of PB Blaster at work. That stuff is awesome.

    thanks bubbakat didnt know if you could put heat on there ill try it and see what happens

    bubba did what you told me and got the bolts out with no problem

    Keith before you reinstall them go get you a thread chaser and clean those threads real good and put some antiseize on them before you reinstall them.
