went fishin today after school. did my typical setup, set my cat pole out and messed around with my bass rod. they were feedin off schools of shad on the surface and i was castin a spinnerbait out there. now, ya know how on the bank, water will erode away and from a little ledge? well i was standin on top of one of these casting my spinnerbait. after a few casts, i reeled it back in and as soon as it pops outta the water i look down and see a small raccoon reach out and grab my lure. my thought at that point: hmm...a coon has muh lure. it grabbed it, turned around, looked at me, sat there for a bit, then scurried into its burrow under the ledge with the lure. it had been sittin at the waters edge and neither of us knew either of us were there. it was smaller than my cat, so it was but a young 'un. i dont think the lure stuck him cuz i pulled on the dang thing for a good bit and it just let go. after taking in what had just occured, i peered into his burrow, which i could see in for about 4 1/2 feet, then it turned. I caught a coon on a spinnerbait. I wonder how many times that has happened in the history of the earth.
