with the current scrap price it would only bring about $30-$40 at best...

I had a 14' flat bottom jon boat. Paid $100.00 for it from Montgomery Wards in 1967. In 1968, at tornado picked up the front end of my mobile home and set it on the jon boat, the boat being the only thing which kept the home from rolling. At any rate, insurance was going to give me 10 dollars for the damage and take the boat. Think that was the first time in my adult life I actually cussed someone out to their face. I kept the boat, paid $10.00 for have a four inch split welded shut and used the boat until my divorce in 1984. She wanted my boat... can you imagine that... guess she thought it was more punishment. So, what I'm trying to say is don't get rid of the boat unless that is what your really wanting to do.

Just pm me your phone number and a time to call you - I'll call you for an address and a time that you want me to pick it up.... Bill Avery

Back around 1973-1974 I had a 14' Alumacraft that I ran up on some rocks; punched a hole about that size in the bottom of the boat. I repaired it with caulk, 2 aluminum plates, and some pop rivits. It not only worked, it never even leaked till the day I sold it when I got transferred. Rather than trying to kick out the bend, I'd use a comealong.

I had a crack in my boat about the same length welded last winter for $35.00, not a big deal in and out of the shop in 30 minutes.

It's going to be one heck of a deal for someone.
