Any of you guys ever use any of the commercial or homemade stinkbaits on the river?

I don't, I use either shad, bream, goldfish, shrimp, or chicken hearts that have sat with garlic salt on them over night..

Danny Kings punch bait works but I have caught more and better fish on shad or chicken hearts.

Yep, for those of us who help bait up all those lines, the chicken hearts in garlic is about the easiest....and we've caught "a pile of fish" with them. Of course, bream &/or goldfish sure brings out the big blues & the "flatties".

Cut bait from a bream trap. Good, cheap and easy. Slightly illegal.

Need to clarify. Perch traps are legal on Toledo Bend. Don't seem fair does it?

Many years ago I tried all kinds of store bought baits..Plain ole chicken liver and crawlers out fished that stuff.

I have had good luck using Sonnys Blood Dip Bait, and Catfish Charlies Shad Cheese Bait, in rivers. I prefer cut or live bait when available.

I like cut bait. It seems that I do better with dip bait in ponds.
