Step By Step Palomar Knot- With Pics

    ok here is how i tie my palomar knots...
    which are super strong knots for hooks....
    i use these and inprooved clinch knots





    there will be 2 pages so give me a few minutes to put up the pics




    thanks Jeff


    step #1 is doubling the line through the hook eye i use a bit more line than other people....makes it easier
    step#2 is tying a simple overhand knot in the doubled line
    step#3 is passing the loop(after the overhand knot) over the hook point around the rest of the hook back up to the eye of the hook

    Nice detailed explaination of my favorite knot! I'd like to add that with braids that don't have to advantage of stretch to cinch a knot tight, I tie my palomars a little differently. When using a braid, I pass the double line through the eye of the hook twice, just to add more line to the knot to help it hold. I love this knot!

    Wow, just found my new knot. Looks as though it's a really fast knot to tie, which at night would be a blessing compared to the knot I usually use. Thanks for the pics. Great Post

    i wanted to show other people how to tie it with pics cause i know when i first learned about it its really hard to tie without pics...

    so thought id help out some catfisherman
