I just got my boat back from having a new transom put in. I must say the guy did a execellent job for the price. I have a 150 HP Yahama out board with dual cable steering. Before I put the motor back on how do I lube the steering rods and what kinda of lubrication do I use. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a manual for that motor? It should tell you in there exactly how to lubricate those cables. I have never done that yet so I dont want to shoot you bad info, check that manual it will explain it for you. Most steering linkage is pretty similar, if you dont get any more responses by then, when I get home I will look in my manual for ya and post what it says.

Take you some brake cleaner and clean those tubes out real good followed by a bore brush with a good mop and then get you some marine grease and grease them up good. Heck any grease is better then no grease.
