James Harrison was charged with simple assault and the other charge I don`t recall.We`ll have to wait and see how the Steeler brass handles this situation, both charges are misdemeanors but involved him slapping his girlfriend. When will these guys learn that no matter who you are you won`t get away with striking a woman. That was a big mistake Mr. Harrison, shame on you.

Justin hartwig is slated to be our new starting center and they will move some guys around to fill in other spots on the line.

Hartwig should be a good sign...he will compete with Mahan for the starting position

Hartwig has more experience and bulk than Mahan...Mahan was listed at under 300lbs and could not stop the bigger nose tackles...and it was evident by Ben's sack numbers...

I will probably take some crap for this but I don't care Faneca, just like Porter had seen their better days and was not worth what he wanted...

I think you will see Faneca has maybe one or two good years left in him...but I think he has peaked...it's better this way now they just to find somebody that has the motivation, drive and intestinal fortitude and mold him into a STEELER!!

I havn't checked in the Steelers thread lately but see there has been some activety! I'm too caught up in the Pens :cool2: and been giving the Steelers a rest but one comment I would like to make is that Steelers are making themselves look bad by releasing Cedric Wilson for beating his girlfriend and not releasing James Harrison for beating his girlfriend. Seems like two sets of rules depending on how good a player you are :embarassed:!

I didn`t want to go there but since you did I totally agree that favoritism was a big part of their decision making process. Then you have to consider Harrison was remorseful and Wilson was cocky about the whole thing,he may have said he was sorry to the media but behind the scene he was an a$$.

Najeh Davenport was found not guilty of a domestic charge , his girlfriend claimed he beat her up but the evidence proved otherwise.These steeler players need to get it together.

Ben got his wish of getting a tall receiver , limas sweed 6`4" 212 lbs. out of Texas should make him happy.Rashard Mendenhall isn`t a bad running back but he is going to need someone to block for him.I don`t understand the Steelers not addressing the o-line issues.

Dan you got your wish the steelers drafted tony hills (offensive tackle) out of the university of texas. he is a road grader who would have gone higher but he hurt his leg(i think he broke his leg) late in season, he only allowed 4 sacks in 2 years. mendenhall is a straight up stud. everyone wanted a big strong back and they got one here. sweed arguably is one of if not the best wide receiver in this draft. had hurt his wrist and had surgery on it, otherwise he would have been gone earlier. davis is a DE out of ucla and has a motor on him, he should work out well. overall so far i love this draft. they have gotten some elite athletes so far. hope the rest of draft pans out as well.

the steelers just took dennis dixon QB out of oregon. in his work outs he impressed everyone. we have another slash again only more athletic and is a QB who can make all the throws. and now we don't have to worry about the brian st pierre caliber players wasting a roster spot.

i think the steelers did very well in the draft this year. they got the best players available on the board at the spots they were picking. the best part was that they didn't reach on a player just to fill a need. they got alot of special athletes and did fill some needs that they had.

I agree that the Steelers did pretty good but I don`t know about another QB,another lineman would have been nice.
