Just a cute funny thing that I got this morning!! LOL! And probably truer than we think!

    Physicians:
    (A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.
    (B) The number of accidental deaths caused by physicians per year are 120,000.
    (C) The number of accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.
Statistics courtesy of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

    Guns:
    (A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000. (Yes, that's 80
    million.)
    (B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups is 1,500.
    (C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .0000188.
    Statistics courtesy of FBI

SO, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than
    gun owners.

Remember, 'Guns don't kill people, doctors do.'

Fact: Not everyone has a gun, but almost everyone has at least one doctor.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat.

We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand.

Out of concern for the public at large, I withheld the statistics on lawyers
for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention.

Great point! Try making this point with a gun control nut and you'll want to make a doctors appointment:smile2:

    Good one Cher!

I've seen it before and another one about how dangerous hospitals are because 2 million people a year contact infections while in the hospital. And the funny thing.... at our local hospital there is a sign at the door... 'No Guns allowed'. So guess we have a safe hospital.

A degree does not make a god.
There are plenty of educated idiots. Just look at Obama and his administration.
    Doctors PRACTICE medicine.

Hire 3 electricians for an advanced electrical problem.
All 3 will approach the troubleshooting differently. All 3 will have a different idea for a fix.
    A doctor is what? Human.
    An electrician is what? Human.
There are different kinds of humans with different mental capacities.
You got over paid doctors as well as over paid electricians.

    Best thing to do.
    Research your doctors and surgeons.
There are online medical and surgical boards for any state.
If he or she is an educated dumbass their name will appear.

Really the gun thing is not a good comparison.
    Interesting trivia anyway.
It's comparing human interaction with an inanimate object to human to human interaction.

I knew where you were coming from.
    I am light.

If you post, what does it matter what thought it provokes? If you post, you are looking for a response.
    You are posting to humans.
Be happy your post provoked thought.
A great oppertunity to maybe help someone else out.

    A Kindle is...
A reader device. The next big wave of electronic devices.
    It is an Amazon Kindle.
You buy the Kindle and can directly from the Kindle purchase books from amazon that will download to the Kindle. It holds around 1300 books.
You can subscribe to Newspapers, magazines, blogs, etc through your Kindle. PDF files can also be loaded on it. Basicly any text document can be transferred to your Kindle from your computer. However it has picture capability. It is a black and white screen but finely detailed. Makes reading easy on the eyes.
Your Kindle can read to you as you drive. you can pick a female or male to read to you.
You can also web browse on your Kindle at no charge.

Other companies are getting in on it including Mac but I bet nobody else will pick up the tab for your web browsing.

Friend got his wife one, she loves it! Was the first time I'd heard of Kindle. The Global coverage is neat but notice on the map at our farm there is no coverage.

I can't talk on a cell phone at my house. There is no signal.
The Kindle works though. I get 3 bars in the bathroom:eek:oooh: No bars in my office.

The only time you would need a connection is to download books (if you bought them from Amazon) or you wanted to browse the web.
Lack of connectivity wouldn't stop you from reading your downloaded or uploaded material.

The web browsing is basic web.
I've gotten on Catfish1 with it but there is too much video and other crap in the sidebars to navigate the site good. It's a reader not a player.
I've gotten on some other forums though that were more text oriented.
It's really handy though to be able to google something that quick without dicking around with a little cellphone, finding a laptop and getting signed in.
When you type in a word you have 6 choices of searching that word or words.

    Search your Kindle
    The Kindle store
    Google
    Dictionary
    Wikipedia
    Or the web.

I'm not really the guy for all the personal type electronics. I've never put a ring tone on either of the 2 cell phones I carry. I don't talk on a cell phone everyday.
I've never had an MP3 player.
You can upload MP3 to your Kindle though and play them.

I find myself getting more into the Kindle thing.
Seems like electronics for old folks to me. Easy to use and useful.
