Ooooh son, my Daddy would have whipped me longways if I had brought in a mess of squirrels like that. If I hunted with a .22 I either had to bark 'em off the tree or shoot them through the rib cage. The head is the best part.:cool2: hehe It took the longest for my wife to get use to cooking their heads.

Congrats on a good mess of squirrels.

LOL!!!!!!!! I hear you about the brains. My grandfather was the same way, but I never acquired a taste for 'em so off with the heads. LOL!!!!!!! I just quarter my squirrels out and salt/pepper to taste, batter with flour and deep fry 'em!!!!!!!!! Add duck commander seasoning after your done and it's lip smacking good!!!!!!!!! God bless.

I eat my share of squirrel brains when I was young boy.My dad always made us use a shot gun but I like the 22 cal.I like to pare boil them first because the old ones are tough Then roll them in flour salt pepper and fry. When done make a pan of gravy and biscuits. You can bust a gut on that.

Ummm, I hear ya Ace. We don't just eat the brains. We eat the meat off the neck and jaws and pull the bottom jaw off and eat the tongue. Then we crack his little head open and get the brain. If you are careful you can get it out in one piece. Sometimes on an older and bigger fox squirrel you have to whack him on the head a time or two with a spoon to break his skull so you can get to the goody's.

Man oh man, all this talk has got me hungry for a mess of young fryers.:cool2:
