I use a ruger 10/22 with a weaver scope and a savage 22mag,20guage over/under. I realy like the savage over/under,if a squirell's in real close I pop him with the 22mag,up in the leaves I just flip it on the 20guage. when the leaves fall I like using the 10/22. I also use an old winchester lever action 22mag, with a weaver scope. Nice light rifle. This past week I've killed 6 squirell's. They are realy hitting the hickory trees around here right now.Good luck on opening day!!!

countrycat15 - Your season comes in late. Our squirrel season here in Illinois opened August 1 and closes February 15. Here is a picture of my grandson and me with the kill from a two hour hunt.

hey, you can still go out and find squirrells. Now is the BEST time to get out in the woods you hunt and start looking for the hot spots. Find good active nut trees, den trees and dre's. Find the active trees and walk around them looking for good spots to sit and wait for them to come out and start cutting. That way on opening day you know right where to go and exactly what spot to sit in for a good shot. get out and scout man.
