Fished Upper Lake Marion a couple of years ago in the Spring (Stumphole Swamp & Pack's Landing Areas).
Had some success, but think I missed out on the "Big Bite".
1- When does this bite turn on and how long does it last?
2- What seems to be the preferred bait, tackle, and setup?
3- Appreciate any other pieces of information hepful.

I used to have great success fishing east of I-95 bridge in Santee during March. The bait of choice was big gizzard shad heads and big live brim. I mean heads big as you you can get. The flats up off edges of the river channel were very productive and I learned to move every 30 minutes if the spot was not producing.

    Thanks for the information.
I have never fished the area just east of I-95.

    I'll give it a try.
