well me and my dad went to the river today and he got one spoon about 17 lbs. I never got anything in the hour and a half that we were there. still early but river level was good so we had to try.

Me and two other guys hit 10 fish total and landed 7 in about 4 hours. We had one short fish. The two I am holding weighed 30 lbs and 45 pounds. The biggest that we got was only about 50 pounds. Mostly all smaller males are what we landed. If the weather keeps the current trend of 70 degree highs and 50 for lows, I look for the sows to start moving up river pretty soon.

hey i was wondering if you snag right next to the dam or look for certain things away from it?
also is it possible to snag them with the dams gates wide open?
    thanks

I was on the river just north of Hwy 412 and had some really good luck this past weekend. I would say the spoonbills are running good right now. The smallest was 28lbs and 53lbs was the largest. good luck to all.
