spoonbill at rend lake

    i've caught 2 spoonbill at rend lake spillway this week and was wondering can you keep them. i didn't even know there were spoonbill there till this week so i didn't know and put them back. but now i here there some of the best eating fish and if i get another i was wanting to keep it.

    i dont see why not. you should be able to just keep em. ive never seen anything in the regulations about them

    Im sure you can keep them. I know the limit is 2 per day, so your good there. I saw a whole school of them below the spillway back in may, I tried to snag one, because ive never caught one. Never got it though. Oh well good job on the paddlefish.

    Went down to Rend for the gathering last weekend and finally got my first paddlefish it was only about 20-24 in long but im glad i finally got my first. I did release it to get a whole lot bigger.
