Southern WI Fishing Hotspots

Hello,
Could someone clue me in on some fishing hotspots that are open to the public and can be fished from the bank in southern WI? I live in Northern IL but have a WI fishing license and am willing to drive an hour or two for some good cat fishing. I've tried a couple of spots around Westport in the past but didn't have a whole lot of luck and have been fishing with my dad in the boat at Turtle Lake (too far to drive), Kagonza, and Wabesa in the past. (Probably spelled all of them wrong except Turtle Lake.)

Any help is appreciated,

Greg

I mostly fish Lake Mendota in Madison, Wisconsin. The Tenney Park breakwater is good for shorefishing with cutbait, but a little weedy right now. Cherokee Marsh at the north end of the lake is good too. Don't waste your time on Monona, though. Do a search for lake-link and check out the Wisconsin fishing reports.
