Any suggestions for good blue/channel fishing locations (rivers) for early march? I'm from northern illinois but would like to head south for some early spring fishing.

As far as rivers in early March, I would have to recommend the mississippi lock and dam at Alton and the Kaskaskia River below Carlyle. I've made some nice catches year round at Carlyle. Good luck!

Will Welcome to the BOC. Early march in this area is still a little slow. I would suggest any power plant lake which has an assessible warm water outlet. The lakes/rivers already mentioned would be good bets also.

depends on how the weather is doing. If it starts to warm up pretty good I've caught them on fresh cut bait, and crawfish. Like Mickey said in and around a power plant is good. So lots of luck to you!:smile2:
