My brother in law and I took my son and nephew fishing on Monday at Eufalla lake in Oklahoma. Yes, we let them play hookie from school. Before, my 12 y/o son had caught a few blue gill, and a hybrid, even a few channels that were less than a pound. Before this trip, someone always had to bait my sons hook for him, and he wouldn't hold the fish he caught. This time, we had got him to start baiting his own hooks with minnows. He cast out into the small cove we were fishing in with a bobber at about 1.5 feet. His line had only been out for a minute, and he was looking around at other peoples bobbers when his uncle asked him where his bobber went. He jumped up and started reeling in and caught this beauty!!! A 1.5 pound crappie!! He was so proud of his catch as it was the biggest of the day. I was so proud of him and his catch, I didn't even care that all I caught was a small black bass. He was so proud of his catch, he was even willing to hold the fish. I still had to take it off the hook, but, mainly because we didn't want any chance of it floppin back into the water. All in all, the boys had a fun day, and were worn out before we headed home.
