My wife and I had an awesome evening/night getting into our first flatheads of the year! We were fishing Chickamauga (TN) and located an extensive three foot flat where we loaded up on Threadfin and Gizzards. Water temp in this area jumped 3-4* to about 65*. Just when the water dropped off in to 30' we marked some big fish. We set up and within 35 minutes caught the first Flathead. I called it out too when it started to bite, as I was used to the "freight train" bites of the Blues from all winter. We had been anticipating some Flats. We caught three more by 9 pm. Including a couple approaching 30#. We even had an intense double which is my new avatar in spirit of the 2008 Spring Bash!

Nice fish man! We've been catching them all winter long, but no big ones. Biggest was probably 30 and the second largest was 20lbs even. Going to my favorite lake in the world next weekend, should be fun, got my PB there last year hopefully I can best that one this trip:wink:

Mark, that is actually the red lid to one of those submersible bait buckets. We had some live bluegill in there. Thanks!
