We might put in at Rush Island..Although I hate thinking about leaving my vehicle there all night..We plan on taking the boat up or down the river, and once it gets dark, camping out on the bank somewhere and fishing all night..Anyone know of a good spot for such an occasion? I would greatly appreciate the advise!

I saw that this morning on the news. Bad stuff. I had two thoughts when I saw it. One, and this won't help His family much, If I have to go out like that at least I'm doing one of the things I love most. Two, I don't and I think most here don't wear their PFD when anchored or tied up fishing. I just wear mine when I'm under power. I think I'll consider buying a couple of the auto inflating PFD's that way if I'm knocked out of the boat by lightening or somesuch thing the pfd will go off even if I'm unconscious.

I went to google maps and typed in "Rush Island power plant" and zoomed in on it. I don't know the area that well but there appears to be a ramp just north of the plant. Can't say who owns it though.

    Truman Boat Ramp
    From Arnold
    South on 55 past 67 to 61
Left (south) on 61, going under 55
Continue south on 61 about 2.7 mi. to County Road AA
    Turn left (east) on AA
Continue on AA about .2 mi. to Big Hollow Rd
Turn right on Big Hollow Rd
Continue on Big Hollow Rd to where it veers to the left, about .5 mi.
Take the veer to the left and continue about 2.3 mi. to sight of Rush Power Plant entrance
Just before entering Rush Island Power Plant, follow sign to the right
Continue on this road to Ramp, about .7 mi.

I do believe that to be the one I saw on the map. Nice going Mike. It appears to have a dike to protect you from the current while lanching.
