Man that's gonna be nice! Setup is no problem. Just be sure to get the transducer level while on the water and in the best place for clean water flow.

I had to drill holes in the ram mount for it to fit

Nice. Did you put a backer plate under the console for the mount? I run mine in that same configuration and it is a lot of stress on the mount in rough water.

I didn’t. I was pretty rough with it and noticed the same thing. But where it was mounted is a metal plate from the console I couldn’t figure out how to attach a support behind it.

Are you running a completely separate battery for the fish finder? The one I replaced with the solix was small and ran to the cranking battery I’m pretty sure

"So It Begins" it's nice you know where it begins because it has been my experience it never ends. Every time I think I have everything in my boat I could ever need or want somebody comes up with something new and/or improved. For most of us I suspect it is a labor of love even if it is never ending. I think you will be well satisfied with what you have so far.

I’m already looking at where I can get a cut board on a ram mount to discard the fish guys off the side of the boat ‍♂️

I also run off the cranking battery. I'm just waiting on the current battery to die so I can get a bigger one with more reserve. It does fine. I can run an aerator, light, fish finder and crank to move lots all night. No problems. Just will feel better about it. It is low when I get back.

We don't keep any fish over 10lb and I would really like to have all the cleaning done before we get back to the camp so I too thought a cutting board and 12v fillet knife would be great additions to my boat. Cleaning the last one while waiting on the next one. However after doing some checking I discovered IL. does not allow for cleaning on the water and dumping the remains into the water is frowned upon also. I don't see the problem but apparently some legislator did at some point in time. Wish they would revisit that as it sounds good to me.

Yeah I release everything unless the misses request some eater size ones to cook. I was wanting it for using cut bait

what would you suggest switching the cranking battery to? Something bigger like a 31?

Yep, I have a huge one on my tritoon. Think it is 1150 cca with a huge reserve. I can run my audio system for a couple hours on it before having to crank to charge. That is 6 speakers, a sub and a 5000 watt amp.
