Yea, i was impressed on how well that snake held on also. I wondered if the snake was injecting it with poison, or was he just trying to position it so he could swallow it without losing it.
What i found to be amazing tho, was the fact that he ingested it alive. I can hardly hold onto catfish that size without getting stuck a few times, and those smaller ones hurt.. And here that snake ate em alive without any problems…

the snake is a diamondback water snake- not poisonous at all. i used to keep them as pets when i was a kid, and mom swore they were water moccasins. in my opinion, they are the meanest snake we have in the U.S. even compared to cottonmouths and rattlers. something cool about them is after they eat a catfish, the pectoral spines will punch out the side of the snake's skin until the fish is digested. it didn't seem to bother the snakes at all. i would feed them perch and mud cats, like this guy was eating.

All I can say is WOW WOW WOW That snake was one determined snake. I'm surprised the cameraman did not spook it.

Well by the time I got to it the top video had been removed, but I got to see the snake and that was GREAT.. took him awhile to get him turned where he could swallow him but he held on tight!

I loved the Jaws music that was playing too good choice that just set it off right!

Ya i have had quite a few red tailed boas and its really cool how they can eat things that seem too big to eat.
