Snagged a carp today

    I went snagging for spoonbill this afternoon. Didn't have any luck on the spoonies, but I did get an 8 lb carp. I like it ok, but it's my wifes favorite fish. Guess i'm in good with her for a while. :)

    I'd rather snag those carp while spoonin then those pesky shad :( and drum.

    I got a nasty old shad too.
    Snagging sucked because they had ALL of the gates WIDE open & there was zero current flowing. :sad:

    I went at Meyer dam too and snagged 3 prolly 30lb carp but all got off.

    LOL...you didn't know that every fish that get away is 30 lbs.!!

    I got them up to shore where we could see them befor they got off and then we weighed the 3 dead ones that were on shore to compare and they were 25lbs and mine were definitly bigger than those so we estimated they were prolly bigger than 30lbs. Its just a hypothesis though.

    Yeah, I saw Quincyfisher's asian carp (even though he never did) and they were definately 30+ pounds I would say.
    I also snagged into somethin big but it swam around the only log out there and my 30lb. test snapped :conc-big:
