Here is a link to the boat (the newest model).

    Smoker Craft Canadian 14

it holds 700lbs and is 50" wide.

    What do you guys think?

Sorry if I'm such a pain. I just never owned a boat before (just kayaks and canoes), and trying to get the best boat for under $1000.

    Any help is appreciated!

That is almost exactly like dad's 1972 smokercraft. Dad's is 12', and not as wide. They are great boats, but a little tippy because of their relatively narrow shape, and V-bow. if you are used to kayaks and canoes, this may not be an issue for you. They dont ride that great in a chop because of the flatness behind the V-bow, but keep it slow and they will cut thru the waves. Dad was very happy with his. It just started leaking at the bow a few years ago, but we could probably tighten the rivets, and it dont leak much anyway. We stopped using it when i bought my jon boat 2 years ago, nothing wrong with it, we just outgrew it.
