I sure remember the ice at Smithville, fished that lake from the very first, do they still have bubble screens around the dock so ya can crappie fish when the lakes froze

I have to tell ya now I am a long ways away from smithville, for years and years I used to check the road rip rap for spawning crappie, on the north end of the bridge rip rap, on the marina side and just about even with the north end of the marina across the cove is always a large mess of spawning crappie once they start, I'd check it about every day taking a 1/8 jig with a 1" white grub and throwing parallel to the bank, once they start it lasts almost a week , I'd get my limit and go home and gt my sons and go back and they would get theirs, year after year:good:
