I love fishing Smithland's tail water when the Blues are turning on. I make about 4 trips a year, and usually only get to fish one of those. Usually the water is high or the fishing is bad. Any info some one could lend would be appreciated. That 2hr drive gets me out of the house, but would like to have an idea whats going on down there.
This is where I got my start fishing for blues several years ago. I went unprepared and by my self. Stripped out 2 reels :0a4: and about fell in :0a20: fighting that 30 pounder :smile2: in that bass boat of mine. Didn't realize how small those live wells really were!

Jamie Welcome to the BOC, from So. Illinois. I have fished the upper side of Smithland but not the tailwaters. I look forward to reading of your Smithland trips.:0a23::0a25::0a25:
