the smith mountain community park opened yesterday. i drove through this morning, it looks really nice. it's on a peninsula about 100 yards wide, it's 37 acres, and has a pier at the end of it. looks like alot of good bank access. i may try to get down and try it tonigfht or fri night. the local fishing report that came out this morning said channels are hitting great and even catching a few flatties.:smile2:

Chip I read about it today in the Roanoke Times online, and guess what? It closes at 10 PM! They may get a boat ramp by next year and allow 24 hour access. It really irkes me to see those time rules. As if you can only catch fish during the daylight hours!
