Well, We finally had a good night saturday night at the dam.
We could`nt catch any skips, but netted plenty of large shad and used them as cut bait.
They were generating while we were getting the bait, but stopped "completely" as soon as we put in the water, just before dark so there was absolutely no flow! I thought that would kill the fishing, but not this time.
The water was HOT! 91 degrees, so we went to the channel and found the thermocline at 23 feet. Thats where the were, in the only cool water.
    I caught my own personal best; a 28 pounder, plus a 24, 23, 20, 18, 16, 14, 13, 12, 12, 10, 8, 5, 5. All on cut shad and rod and reel.
    Jon added a 18 pounder, 12, 5, 5.
    I was just my night.

Saturday night was magic for us too,at Ormond. We had skips and shore fished with big outfits. Four fish before midnight 22#,15#, 12# and a 5# all blues. :roll_eyes:Then the water fell 3' and things were slow till dawn. Now we know what happened! All those fish smelly was hauling in upriver lowered it 3',plus they weren't letting any get away the rest of the night except our 5#fish. :smile2::wink:

It really was a great night. Best night we've had in years. We dont get to fish as much as we used to, so to make a 90-mile one way drive and slaughter them was really great. Almost great enough to make us go back this weekend maybe. Our fishing slowed down quite a bit when the fired the generators back up. I really thought we were dead in the water when we got out there and there was no flow, but it was pretty constant up until the point that they sounded the alarm and started generating again around 1am or so.

Oh, we forgot to mention that we released all the fish, so they are still there for another day!

    Thankx Big Sam.
I may be late with this post too, but I am planning several trips back to dardenelle and I will contact Top Sarge and see if he can join me along with the new kid on the block, Kyle.
