Well, We finally had a good night saturday night at the dam. We could`nt catch any skips, but netted plenty of large shad and used them as cut bait. They were generating while we were getting the bait, but stopped "completely" as soon as we put in the water, just before dark so there was absolutely no flow! I thought that would kill the fishing, but not this time. The water was HOT! 91 degrees, so we went to the channel and found the thermocline at 23 feet. Thats where the were, in the only cool water. I caught my own personal best; a 28 pounder, plus a 24, 23, 20, 18, 16, 14, 13, 12, 12, 10, 8, 5, 5. All on cut shad and rod and reel. Jon added a 18 pounder, 12, 5, 5. I was just my night.
