Here are some pictures that I have of the smallest catfish I have ever caught on rod and reel. I was using nightcrawlers for bait. These were caught on May 4, 2008 when I first started catfishing again.

So far, the littlest cat I've caught was one half the size of the cat in my avatar photo. :embarassed:

I once bought some minnows to crappie fish with. Imagine my surprise when I reached in the bucket to get a minnow and got fined. Examined the bucket and I had a catfish about 1 1/2 inches long. Took it home and put it in an aquarium. It grew to be about 14 inches before it finally died.

here's my smallest but no where near the size of yours. If you look close you can see the big chunk of shad and 8/0 circle hook.

I was fishing in a canal one day just trying to see what I could catch. I was getting bites but couldn't hook anything. I decided to put on a bluegill hook (the smallest hook I had) and I caught a few cats that were about 6" long. Then I stopped getting bites so I reeled in my pole and he was on there. I'm more proud of cathing this fish than my pb blue(27#).

Thank you everyone for your posts.
