small rivers

    hello gang i moved from memphis tn to whiteville tn i was raised fishing the miss river now im close to the hatchie a small river any tips for fishing the small river

    Riffle , Hole , Run , outside river bends and watch for areas with alot of snags . 15 to 20 minuets in a spot then move .

    Richard we caught alot of fish there year before last and the most productive spots for us were; piles of timber(the bigger the better), the downstream edge of sharp bends and spots were the river was clean for a good stretch and have one tree in it. The largest fish we caught were in water as shallow as 2ft but very near to a drainage(creek or ditch). Those channels sure do love them shad guts. the bigger ones will take a whole bream in a heartbeat. Good luck.

    The smaller rivers are actually easier to isolate the fish so that should not be a problem for you. Make sure you experiment with different bait presentations until you find what works
