guys, my best channel cat fishing has always been in small overlooked lakes that are primarily fished for trout or bass. My largest channel cat was 20lbs. @ 30" in a small PA trout lake. In this same lake I have landed more channel cats over 10lbs. then I have under 10lbs. One lake in particular has produced 10lb. + cats each time I have fished it, I'm convinced it harbors 30lbers!!!! Anyone else try any of these small PA lakes for channel cats?

    So where's this lake?
I've been fishing the Octoraro reservoir and caught a few nice fish.

My 2 personal bests were out of a small mine hole caught in the middle of the day on nightcrawlers. theres something else bigger in there that i lose on live gills. but I havent been back to that hole since I graduated high school. where about are you in pa? maybe we're thinking of the same place?

I make it over a few times a year. Now that I have a daughter (4 mnths old) I havent gone out to fish as much but I still have my topo map of the reservoir.

Shawn, can you fish that at night? Doesn't the park close at sunset?
Will you fish the lake side or the reservoir side? I do a lot of trout fishing there once the weather gets colder.
