Heres a picture of a really small cat Sam caught on an 11/0 circle hook. Just goes to show that blues are not hook shy and you can catch small blues on big hooks.

Thanks for sharing. One question, what is it that you are using for bait? :confused2:

The hook is almost as wide as his head. Proves they are not hook shy. Thanks for posting.

I use the 5/0-7/0 Gama's when I'm using big hunks of liver and I've got blue gills on the hooks when they try to steal the bait.

now thats a funny picture....but i'd have to respectfully disagree about proving that a blue isn't hook shy. it's a 1 year old fish, give or take....in other words, its not too smart. :eek:oooh: most fish will learn to stay away from baits if they have seen them and/or get caught on them often enough. with that being said, if you hung a steak the size of my head in front of me with a huge hook sticking out it of it....i think i'd take a go at it. :smile2:

I would have never dreamed that a fish size could get a 11# in it's mouth. Thanks
