Just wondering - since we've been having so much rain lately, I've been seeing a lot more slugs. Does anybody ever use them for bait, and if so, how do they do? Thanks!

Slugs are one thing you can't add salt to - they will melt. My dad used to love to pour salt on them when I was a kid - cheap entertainment and it kept them out of his garden! LOL! I was just wondering about the slugs when Bo and I went on a worm hunt this afternoon. All the little pop up thunderboomers have really had the worms out. It's almost like money in the bank.

Yep, I've used baby toads before. I was at LBL and my worms had gotten left out of the cooler (who could have done such a stupid thing!) in 90+ temps. When we got to the campsite and discovered the mistake, we just went to plan B - there were literally hundreds of toads swarming the site. Bo and I kept the kids busy catching them and we kept busy fishing with them. Not bad, but I missed my nightcrawlers!
