Last saturday I tried to do some daytime Flathunting.. I was fishing a google eye (think some call em war mouth, they look like a blue gill with black on em) next to a submerged tree.. I sat there roughly an 1 hour with no bites (least thats what I thought) Line never ran or even got tight, other than when I first cast out and the bait would tug.... When I went to reel it in to move to a new spot, I notice my bait was dead, had scales missing like somebody took some sandpaper and rubbed the sides and it was covered in slime. So bad it was dripping off its head.. I'm pretty sure something was mouthing it, just no idea what.. Anyone else ever see anything like this?

This was in a Lake, NOT a the river....
