Skunked again

Went to Edgewater state park at Lake Erie last night and caught ZERO catfish as usual. I Carolina rigged with a 3way swivel so I could present 2 different baits on each rod. One rod I used cured garlic liver and nightcrawler, the other rod had fresh shrimp and cut bluegill.

All I managed to catch were a couple sheepshead that took the nightcrawler and shrimp. And like a good sheepshead do, they gut hooked themselves.

I need to move down to central/southern Ohio. The catfishing up here sucks. And Lake Erie is useless if you don't own a boat. :cursing:

hey nate,i know what you're saying about cats up north!
the pond at tall timbers campground in port clinton has a few in it.i caught and released a 5 lb channel there last year and had a hog break my line!people up there don't really concentrate on cats and there are a bunch of ponds around that area.i'd bet you could get permission to fish almost any of them.

Last night I went out to Buckeye Lake and caught a couple but ran out of bait. Gonna have to take plenty more shad next trip.

Come on down Nate and I'll be glad to take you out on the boat.

LOL...You have to take more that two shad to fish...Tony and I can't keep coming by giving you bait...

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate fishing ventures Nate. :sad: That's alright, you'll find them!!

One of my first times catfishing was at lake erie. we rented a cottage up there and i spent 30$ on my first cat outfit. got me some stinkbait to go with it and caught six channels between 3 and 7 lbs.
