Skipjack in the Mississippi River

    Anyone catch these in the lower part of the state? i catch shad, very few goldeye but never a skipjack.

    where in the lower part of the state, i went skipjack fishing last week, i got 15 in just a few min. i was fishing at mew madrid

    Were do you look for them at? Around wing dikes, feeder creeks?

    i get most of them around the wing dikes, out at the ends of them. i cast out to the swift water let it drift down till it hits the back wash, sometimes i real fast, other times i jig it. it might be hard to find them right now with the river up & muddy, just keep tryin youll find them. about 4.00 pm, of 8.00 am seems to be the best time for me right now ... hope this helps russ

    Thanks. Did a little more reading and found out you almost have to fish for them. I've been just trying with a cast net.
