The Skippies are running behind Mcalpine, close to the dam in the fast water. I caught about thirty today in two hours. Skippies were hitting a Sabiki rig. White Bass , Stripers, and Sauger also being caught on white jigs.

The Skipjack that I caught were big ones. The average size was about 14 to 16 inches. This is a very popular spot. Lots of fishermen. Take your old shoes or waders, because you have to get out in the water to get to them.

Tie on about 4 or 5 little popeye type hair jig's and reel kinda fast keeping them jig's close to the top 2 to 10 feet of water around dam and hydro electric plant and you will catch plenty if they are there. Sometime's 2 or 3 skip jack's at a time.
