Hey guys I thought it might be helpful if we had a Thread devoted to shad and skip-jacks in Alabama. When and where you are catching your bait. I try to stock up when I am able to catch them schooling for the hot summer months. I am planning such a trip for this up coming Thursday some were in the Phenix City area. I will post my results. The next time you go out and are trying ...how about give a shout out on how you did .

I know Alabama fishermen have not typically posted a lot here.....but come on guys...this is bait fish we are talking about

skips are hard to come by right now on the tenn river due to high water....when the water goes down it should get better...

Bouldin is a south central part of the state, just north of montgomery. I went today to check it out. The water was wide open...unfishable from shore.

There can not be that much water that is going to look good at all with the rain that alabama has seen. but clear skies are coming and it is going to bring the cold with it.
