You might want to try these hooks out instead.

The reason why I say that is because you can get them in a bigger size. When you start using cut carp for bait you tend to want a bigger hook then a 2/0. You want that hook point exposed so you can get good hook penetration.
To answer rich-online question. You want the business end of the hook exposed. You want that point clear and free of any obstruction. Such as a scale or any debris.
